FT Relief Pharmacist – Walmart – Winnipeg, MB

Walmart Canada is looking for a Full-Time Relief Pharmacist to join their pharmacy team at the Winnipeg location on Regent Avenue West. This is a Regular/Permanent position for a licensed professional who is comfortable working across multiple store locations and thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centred environment.

In this role, you’ll work alongside the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist, supporting all aspects of pharmacy operations — from filling and dispensing prescriptions accurately to counselling patients and delivering eligible health services. Travel to various Walmart pharmacy locations is part of the role, making flexibility a key asset.

About the Role: FT Relief Pharmacist

As a Relief Pharmacist at Walmart Canada, you’ll be responsible for ensuring every patient receives safe, accurate, and timely pharmaceutical care. You’ll accept and process prescriptions from patients, physicians, and hospitals, using established workflow models to maintain efficiency and safety at every step. Proper storage of pharmaceutical products, operating pharmacy equipment, and executing processes in line with OBWs and SOPs are all core parts of the day-to-day.

Beyond dispensing, you’ll be expected to protect patient privacy in accordance with provincial regulations and deliver services patients are entitled to — including medication reviews and injections. You’ll also build collaborative relationships with other healthcare providers within the store, such as clinics and the Vision Centre, while maintaining strong working ties with Professional Services District Managers and community stakeholders.

Benefits and Salary

Responsibilities

The Relief Pharmacist plays a central role in keeping Walmart’s pharmacy running smoothly across multiple locations. From the moment a prescription comes in to the final patient consultation, this role demands precision, professionalism, and genuine care for patient outcomes. • Assist the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in all aspects of pharmacy operations
• Accept and process prescriptions and refill requests from customers, doctors, and hospitals
• Fill prescriptions accurately, efficiently, and safely using established workflow models
• Counsel patients on all sold pharmaceutical products following dispensing
• Deliver eligible health services including medication reviews and injections to meet patient needs
• Protect patient privacy at all times in compliance with provincial regulatory requirements
• Ensure proper storage of all pharmaceutical products
• Execute processes in accordance with OBWs and SOPs
• Travel to various locations and follow schedules set by the Relief Program Coordinator
• Build collaborative relationships with healthcare providers within the store and the surrounding community
• Support an excellent patient experience and assist customers on the sales floor as needed

Requirements / Skills

Walmart Canada is seeking a licensed pharmacist who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working within structured pharmacy programs across different store locations. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical knowledge, a commitment to patient safety, and the ability to hit the ground running in varied pharmacy environments.

• Pharmacist Licence is required — this is a non-negotiable minimum qualification
• Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) is a secondary optional permit applicable in Alberta
• Ability to travel to various Walmart pharmacy locations as directed by the Relief Program Coordinator
• Knowledge of provincial regulations and the regulatory body’s requirements for pharmacy practice
• Proficiency with pharmacy equipment, including dispensing systems and pharmacy software
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop working relationships with district managers, clinic staff, and other healthcare providers
