Food & Consumables Team Associate – Walmart – Truro, NS

Walmart’s Truro Supercenter is looking for a Food & Consumables Team Associate to join their in-store team at 140 Wade Rd, Truro, Nova Scotia. This is a permanent, hourly position with shifts spanning mornings, afternoons, evenings, and nights — making it a flexible option for a wide range of candidates.

In this role, you’ll be on the floor keeping the food and consumables section stocked, organized, and compliant with safety and merchandising standards. It’s hands-on work that directly shapes the shopping experience for customers across the Truro community.

About the Role: Food & Consumables Team Associate

As a Food & Consumables Team Associate, your primary focus is maintaining the food and consumables department so that shelves, tables, and bunkers are properly zoned, stocked, and signed. You’ll rotate products, check expiration dates, and make sure every item is in its correct location and priced accurately.

A significant part of the job involves following cold chain compliance procedures, including thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, and proper food handling protocols. You’ll also assist with ordering processes, clearance items, markups and markdowns, and ensuring all signage and labels meet Walmart’s standards. Teamwork and a customer-first attitude are central to how the department operates day to day.

Benefits and Salary

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $16.90 per hour. • Zone the department to ensure product shelves, tables, and bunkers are organized and products are in the correct locations
• Rotate stock and check for expired or near-expiry products, removing them as required
• Verify merchandise is properly signed and accurately priced at all times
• Adhere to cold chain compliance standards including thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling protocols, and sell-by/expiration date monitoring
• Follow proper procedures for ordering, clearance, markups and markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing, and label application
• Provide exemplary customer service in line with Walmart’s basic beliefs and values
