About the Role: Field Sales Representative II, Google Cloud

As an FSR within Google Cloud’s Startups segment, you’ll own the full commercial relationship with your accounts. That means managing everything from the first customer conversation through to complex, multi-year agreement negotiations. You’ll bring together internal teams — including Customer Engineering, Partner, and Post-Sales — alongside external partners to deliver on business commitments and ensure customers get the most from Google’s technology stack.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day, you’ll be driving cloud adoption and revenue growth across a portfolio of startup and digital native accounts. These responsibilities span strategic planning, customer engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and complex deal management — all in service of helping customers realize the full value of Google Cloud’s solutions.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to surpass business goals and build trusted, consultative relationships with customers
  • Manage and track the sales pipeline from lead to close, ensuring pipeline health and accurate forecasting for clear visibility into expected outcomes
  • Leverage emerging technology trends, market analysis, and knowledge of cloud solutions to showcase how Google Cloud can transform customers’ businesses
  • Manage complex, multi-year agreements and formulate persuasive proposals that illustrate clear return on investment through customer business cases and comprehensive deployment plans
  • Mobilize internal experts (Customer Engineering, Partner, Post-Sales) and external partners at the right time to drive consumption and deliver a seamless customer experience
  • Engage customers from developers to C-suite founders using a consultative value selling methodology to drive long-term business growth
  • Lead cross-functional teams and partners in project implementation and commercial negotiations

Requirements / Skills

Google is looking for a seasoned sales professional with a proven track record in quota-carrying cloud or software sales. The ideal candidate combines deep technical market knowledge with strong executive presence and the ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder deals from start to finish.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 7 years of experience in quota-carrying cloud or software sales, or consultative account management at a B2B software company
  • Full sales cycle management experience, including pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting
  • Commercial negotiations experience, including managing and closing complex agreements
  • Experience working with internal teams and customer stakeholders across all levels
  • Consultative selling experience with Startup or Digital Native organizations, including executive-level engagement and multi-year account planning (preferred)
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen, including P&L management and accurate forecasting (preferred)
  • Experience with cloud, data, and AI value proposition, qualifying leads, and showcasing Google Cloud differentiators against competitive alternatives (preferred)
