About the Role: Electronics/Majors Sales Assistant

As an Electronics/Majors Sales Assistant, your primary focus will be delivering prompt and courteous member service. That means answering questions, walking members through product features and specifications, and helping them load purchases into their carts. You’ll also be expected to stay informed about the latest trends and developments in your department — reading industry publications and experimenting with products firsthand to stay sharp.

Beyond member interaction, you’ll work closely with your Area Manager to manage merchandise quantities, pricing, delivery, and promotions. You’ll be responsible for setting up and maintaining product displays, ensuring accurate signage, and participating in merchandise moves. Attention to detail, teamwork, and a genuine interest in electronics and appliances are key to doing well in this position.

Responsibilities

Working in the electronics, major appliances, and jewellery sections of the warehouse floor, this role involves a mix of direct member engagement and behind-the-scenes department upkeep. Staying on top of both is what keeps the department running smoothly and members coming back.

• Assist members with product selection, demonstrations, and loading merchandise into their carts
• Answer questions about product features, specifications, and comparisons across electronics and major appliances
• Stay current by reading industry magazines, product reviews, and experimenting with merchandise to maintain up-to-date knowledge
• Communicate with the Area Manager regarding stock levels, pricing, delivery timelines, and promotions
• Maintain displays by setting up, cleaning, facing, and stocking product to meet merchandising standards
• Check and approve member returns and verify the accuracy of product signage and markings
• Participate in merchandise moves, coordinating with forklift drivers and stocking product in the aisles
• Manage security lock-up for protected items and keep the sales floor and lock-up area clear of debris

Requirements / Skills

Costco is looking for someone who is knowledgeable about consumer electronics, comfortable engaging with members, and capable of working efficiently in a high-traffic warehouse environment. Candidates who bring prior sales experience and a genuine interest in technology will stand out in the selection process.

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred for this position
• Sales experience will be given preference over candidates without it
• Must pass the Costco PC/Electronics knowledge test as part of the hiring process
• Strong member service skills including the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
• Ability to learn product specifications quickly and stay current with evolving technology trends
• Bilingual in French (oral and written) is required for candidates applying to Quebec locations
