About the Role: Audiologist / Hearing Instrument Practitioner
As the licensed clinician in Costco’s Hearing Centre, you’ll be responsible for the full scope of hearing assessment and hearing aid dispensing. This includes everything from taking patient histories and performing air and bone conduction threshold testing to fitting, verifying, and validating hearing instrument performance. You’ll also handle impression taking, shell repair and modification, and ongoing patient counselling.
Maintaining infection control standards, protecting patient privacy and confidentiality, and keeping thorough clinical records are all central to this role. You’ll be the go-to expert on all products and services offered through the hearing centre, and you’ll be expected to deliver a high standard of member service at every interaction.

Responsibilities
Working within Costco’s Hearing Centre, you’ll carry out the full clinical cycle — from initial assessment through to fitting and ongoing patient support. Your work directly impacts members’ hearing health outcomes, making thoroughness and care essential at every step.
- Assess hearing using comprehensive audiological testing including history taking, air and bone conduction thresholds, and speech testing
- Recommend and dispense hearing aids based on assessment findings, including evaluations, fittings, and counselling
- Verify and validate hearing instrument performance to ensure optimal outcomes for each patient
- Perform impression taking, shell repair, and modification as required
- Adhere to infection control, privacy, and confidentiality standards at all times
- Maintain complete and accurate records and clinical documentation
- Escort patients to and from the hearing testing facility and assist with access as needed
- Stay current on all products and services offered through the hearing centre
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse when necessary
Requirements / Skills
Costco is looking for a fully qualified clinician who is registered (or eligible for registration) with their provincial regulatory college. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and patient-focused care.
- Education: Master’s Degree in Audiology, or status as a Registered/Licensed Hearing Instrument Practitioner with full authority to dispense hearing aids in BC
- Licensure: Registered (or eligible for registration) with the relevant regulatory College in BC and/or Member in Good Standing with the provincial association
- Authorization (or eligibility) to provide government-funded hearing services where applicable
- Clinical experience in hearing assessment and hearing aid dispensing is preferred
- Attention to detail and strong technical aptitude in audiological equipment and procedures
- Strong communication and counselling skills with a commitment to member service excellence
- Solid computer skills and strong organizational and time management abilities
