About the Role: Bakery Wrapper

As a Bakery Wrapper at Costco Burnaby, your primary focus is preparing finished bakery products for the sales floor. This includes removing items from baking containers, applying garnishes, icing drizzles, or glazes following Costco’s established formulas, and then wrapping and packaging goods either by hand or using a wrapping machine. You’ll also be responsible for assembling pre-cut cardboard boxes used for packaging.

Maintaining food safety standards is central to this role. You’ll weigh and label products, cull any broken, underweight, or defective goods, and ensure all items on the floor meet Costco’s quality and consistency benchmarks. Keeping the wrapping and sales areas clean, rotating stock, and following health code compliance are all part of the daily routine. You’ll also interact with members on the floor, providing courteous service and product guidance.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day work as a Bakery Wrapper at Costco involves a mix of food preparation, packaging, quality control, and member-facing duties. Every task you carry out contributes directly to the quality and presentation of Costco’s bakery products on the sales floor.

• Remove and prepare baked goods from baking containers for finishing and packaging
• Garnish and finish products by drizzling icing or applying glaze according to Costco’s formulas and production procedures
• Wrap and package baked goods by hand or with a wrapping machine, and assemble pre-cut cardboard packaging boxes
• Weigh and label products, culling any items that are broken, underweight, heavy, or defective to maintain quality standards
• Move product using large wheeled metal racks throughout the bakery area
• Monitor and restock the bakery sales area, rotate stock, check pull dates, and comply with health codes
• Provide courteous service to members, answer product questions, and direct them to locations within the warehouse
• Maintain cleanliness of the wrapping and sales areas and follow all safety and security procedures
• Assist with other bakery and warehouse duties as needed

Requirements / Skills

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, though not mandatory
• Food Safety Certification – Level 1 is required by your first day on the job

• Attention to detail when applying garnishes, checking product weights, and inspecting for defects
• Reliable and punctual with the ability to follow established procedures and quality standards consistently
• Bilingual (French/English) required for candidates applying to Quebec locations
