About the Role: Deli Bakery Team Associate

As a Deli Bakery Team Associate, your primary responsibility is to ensure the department is well-stocked, properly organized, and operating in line with food safety and quality standards. From preparing hot rotisserie chicken to thawing and baking goods like bread, cakes, pies, and cookies, you’ll play a hands-on role in getting fresh products ready for customers each day.

Beyond the kitchen tasks, you’ll also help with shelf organization, product pricing, stock rotation, and checking for expired items. Attention to detail around cold chain compliance, temperature recording, and food handling procedures is a key part of keeping the department safe and compliant. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values communication, flexibility, and a positive attitude.

Benefits and Salary

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $16.45 per hour. Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be involved in both food preparation and department upkeep. Each shift brings a mix of customer-facing tasks and behind-the-scenes work that keeps the deli and bakery departments running at their best.

• Zone the department to ensure product shelves, tables, and bunkers are organized and items are in the correct location
• Rotate stock and check for expired products to maintain freshness and food safety
• Ensure merchandise is properly signed and priced at all times
• Adhere to food safety standards including cold chain compliance, thermometer calibration, temperature recording, and proper food handling procedures
• Take and fulfil deli orders, including preparing hot food items and assisting customers with their selections
• Prepare deli food orders using proper utensils; cook rotisserie chicken and fill prepared side dishes for display
• Bake and thaw bakery products such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls following established guidelines for quality and appearance
• Follow procedures for ordering, clearance markdowns, and signing/pricing/labelling merchandise
