Responsibilities

The Courier Team Lead plays a vital role in keeping daily operations on track at the Lloydminster location. From supporting management on the sort floor to mentoring couriers in the field, your day-to-day work directly shapes the performance and morale of the team.

  • Assist management in overseeing daily sort, delivery, and pickup activities
  • Lead your assigned sector, ensuring best practices and operational efficiency throughout each shift
  • Mentor and coach hourly employees, modelling role model behaviour through strong leadership and communication
  • Resolve conflicts and apply effective communication strategies to maintain a positive work environment
  • Oversee remote domicile locations and feeder operations where applicable
  • Complete and maintain all required training and accreditations, including DG specialist certification and recurrency training
  • Stay current with Best Practices updates and defensive driver process changes
  • Prioritize and delegate tasks in a time-sensitive manner to keep operations moving efficiently

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings at least one year of courier experience and is ready to step into a leadership role. FedEx values team players who combine operational know-how with the interpersonal skills to motivate others and maintain high standards under pressure.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Minimum one (1) year of current Courier experience at FedEx
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record (two or fewer violations/accidents in the past 24 months)
  • Physical capability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs using appropriate equipment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and train employees on the job
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Working knowledge of FedEx products, services, and general operations; familiarity with Canadian Customs regulations is an asset
  • Completion of the Personal Development Stream of Excel is preferred
