About the Role: Seasonal Package Handler Non-Driver

As a Seasonal Package Handler, your core responsibility is to ensure freight moves safely and accurately within the facility. This means loading and unloading freight, as well as scanning and sorting packages so they reach their correct destinations on time. Precision and physical capability are key — you’ll be handling packages up to 70 lbs independently and manoeuvring items up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.

Beyond the physical tasks, you’ll be expected to complete all required basic and recurrency training, operate in a Windows PC environment, and maintain any applicable annual accreditations. FedEx also expects all team members to perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs, and to work varying shifts when required. Note that if you reside in Quebec, bilingualism in French and English is required.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day work in this role revolves around keeping freight flowing accurately and efficiently through the Calgary FedEx facility.

• Load and unload freight safely and efficiently within the facility
• Scan and sort packages to ensure accurate routing and delivery
• Lift and manoeuvre packages weighing up to 70 lbs independently, and up to 150 lbs using appropriate equipment
• Complete all basic and recurrency training requirements as mandated by FedEx
• Operate in a Windows PC environment as needed during the shift
• Maintain annual accreditations where applicable
• Work varying shifts based on operational business needs, including weekends

Requirements / Skills

FedEx is looking for candidates who are physically capable, reliable, and willing to work early morning hours in a fast-moving warehouse environment. Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude toward training and safety protocols are highly valued in this role.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Familiarity with FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations is preferred but not mandatory
• Good interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team setting
• Physical ability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs with proper equipment
• Availability from 3AM to 11AM, including weekends
• Ability to complete all mandatory testing, training, and recurrency requirements
