About the Role

The Brokerage Rater is responsible for accurately assessing duties, taxes, and brokerage fees on imported goods, ensuring compliance with local customs regulations. In this role, you will support customers on various brokerage matters and maintain a strong understanding of import/export procedures and regulatory requirements.

Additionally, you will manage general brokerage tasks, including processing paperwork, maintaining accurate records, and resolving issues related to the importation of goods. The ability to work flexible shifts is essential to meet the demands of this fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess duties, taxes, and brokerage fees on imported commodities according to local customs regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with local Customs and Revenue Agency regulations.
  • Communicate with customers regarding brokerage-related issues and provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records and handle general brokerage tasks as required.

Basic Qualifications

UPS requires the following basic qualifications for the Brokerage Rater role:

  • Brokerage Certification (preferred).
  • Availability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience in a call center environment (preferred).
  • Bilingual in English and French (an asset).
