Bid Air Driver – UPS – Concord, ON

UPS is hiring a Bid Air Driver (Package Delivery Driver) at their Concord, Ontario facility. This is a physical, fast-paced position based out of 2900 Steeles Avenue West, Concord. You’ll be out on the road each afternoon delivering and picking up packages across your route — no two days are exactly the same. Shifts run 4 to 5 hours per day, Monday through Friday starting at 2:00 PM, making it a solid fit for those who prefer afternoons or are looking to supplement other commitments.

About the Role: Bid Air Driver

As a Package Delivery Driver with UPS, your primary focus is the efficient and accurate delivery and pickup of packages throughout your assigned area. You’ll operate a UPS vehicle while applying the company’s safe and defensive driving methods, navigate routes using GPS and maps, and interact directly with customers at each stop. Physical stamina is essential — packages typically weigh 25 to 35 lbs. and can reach up to 70 lbs.

UPS drivers are also expected to represent the company professionally at all times. That means adhering to appearance guidelines, wearing the company-provided vest and uniform, and maintaining accurate records of delivered packages. You’ll also assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed. This role is covered under a Union Collective Agreement, which provides structured wage progression and a range of employee protections.

Benefits and Salary

This position starts at $19.00 per hour, with guaranteed wage progression through the Union Collective Agreement up to $30.38 per hour after 48 months of service. You’ll receive weekly pay via direct deposit every Friday, paid training, and overtime opportunities. After one year of service, employees become eligible for extended health care benefits including vision, dental, life insurance, and health coverage, as well as a pension plan and paid vacation (starting at 2 weeks, scaling up to 6 weeks after 25 years). Note that monthly union dues of approximately $52/month apply, along with a one-time $50 union initiation fee deducted after 90 working days.

Day-to-day life as a UPS Package Delivery Driver is built around reliability, efficiency, and customer interaction. Each shift, you’ll be responsible for getting packages to the right place at the right time — safely and professionally. Here’s what that looks like on the ground:

• Deliver and pick up UPS packages efficiently and effectively across your assigned route
• Apply safe and defensive driving methods as trained by UPS, maintaining a clean driving record
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks at the facility as required
• Record and track package delivery information accurately to maintain operational integrity
• Navigate routes using GPS devices, maps, and map books to locate addresses efficiently
• Represent UPS professionally by wearing the company-provided uniform and adhering to appearance standards
• Handle packages weighing up to 70 lbs. unassisted throughout the shift

Requirements / Skills

UPS is looking for candidates who are dependable, physically capable, and committed to delivering a quality experience to customers. A valid Ontario driver’s licence and a clean abstract are non-negotiable — beyond that, the right attitude and work ethic go a long way in this role.

• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence (or higher) — required to operate UPS delivery vehicles
• Clean Driver’s Abstract — no violations in the past 12 months, no more than 2 in the last 36 months, no accidents, and no more than 5 demerit points over the last 3 years
• Physical fitness — ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32 kg) unassisted; typical packages range from 25–35 lbs.
• Navigation skills — comfortable using GPS devices, map books, and route-finding tools
• Customer service skills — professional and personable when interacting with recipients
• Flexible availability — able to work Tuesday through Saturday, with occasional Monday shifts
• Adaptability — comfortable working in varying outdoor temperatures and fast-paced environments
