As a Bakery Associate at Walmart Canada, your main focus is on maintaining the quality and visual appeal of the Bakery Department. You’ll follow precise thawing and baking guidelines to ensure products meet Walmart’s standards, and you’ll keep the department fully stocked and ready for shoppers. Accurate merchandise signing and pricing is part of the job, along with managing markups, markdowns, and product labels according to proper procedures.

Food safety is a top priority in this position. You’ll adhere to cold chain compliance, thermometer calibration protocols, temperature recording, and proper food handling and sanitation procedures. Monitoring sell-by and expiration dates, rotating stock correctly, and maintaining a clean department are all key parts of keeping customers and colleagues safe. Benefits and Salary

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $18.05 per hour. • Ensure quality and visual appearance of all Bakery Department merchandise, including bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls
• Maintain full stock levels in the department so it’s ready for customers at opening
• Sign and price merchandise accurately, following proper procedures for markups, markdowns, and labelling
• Prepare bakery items by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines
• Adhere to food safety protocols including cold chain compliance, thermometer calibration, temperature recording, and product rotation
• Follow sanitation and cleaning procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic department
• Manage sell-by and expiration dates to ensure only fresh, safe products are available for sale
• Secure all displays in a safe and proper manner to protect both merchandise and customers
