About the Role: Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities

In this role, the Assistant Store Manager is involved in virtually every aspect of store operations. From keeping the sales floor well-stocked and properly merchandised to mentoring staff and managing daily priorities, this position demands both organizational skill and genuine team leadership.

  • Support the Store Manager in overseeing all daily retail store operations and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) in the absence of the Store Manager, taking full responsibility for store operations
  • Communicate and enforce company rules and regulations so that all team members understand and follow them consistently
  • Oversee inventory counts in a prompt and precise manner to ensure proper resupply of goods and minimize stock gaps
  • Uphold merchandising standards by ensuring established merchandising practices are followed throughout the store
  • Participate in recruitment and training activities for new employees, contributing to team development and onboarding
  • Manage priorities efficiently, balancing operational demands with team management responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

Requirements / Skills

Dollarama is looking for a candidate with proven retail experience and the leadership ability to guide a team through the demands of a busy store environment.   • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in the retail industry is preferred

  • Comfort with physical tasks including working with ladders, up-and-down movements, and heavy lifting
  • Availability to work 40–50 hours weekly, including days, evenings, and weekends based on store operational needs
  • Flexibility to travel within the assigned region as required
