As an Area Manager II at Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, your primary responsibility is to support, motivate, and mentor your hourly workforce while managing key performance metrics across safety, quality, and productivity. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional support teams — including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources — to build and execute plans that meet operational goals.

This is a physically active role. You can expect to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per shift, lift up to 49 pounds, and work in environments with variable noise levels and temperatures, including outdoor loading areas. Flexible scheduling is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, which reflects the 24/7 nature of Amazon’s operations.

Benefits and Salary

The base salary range for this Area Manager II position in New Westminster, BC is $75,000 to $105,000 CAD annually. As part of Amazon’s total compensation approach, the package may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Additional benefits include comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional resources to support health and well-being. Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.

Requirements / Skills

Amazon is looking for a proven people leader with a track record in employee performance management and a solid understanding of operational environments. Candidates who have experience driving process improvements and managing large teams in high-volume settings will be well-positioned for this role.

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience in a structured operational environment
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, OR 2+ years of Amazon blue badge/FTE experience
• Flexibility to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
• 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques (preferred)
• Experience managing large teams of 50 or more members (preferred)
• Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen experience is a strong asset (preferred)
• Background in relevant industries such as logistics, distribution, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, or hospitality (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field (preferred)
