About the Role: Air Cargo Screener

As an Air Cargo Screener at UPS Mirabel, your primary duty is to identify and control potential threats through the use of X-Ray and ETD machines in the Designated Screening Area (DSA). You’ll enforce access control, verify identification, and ensure all procedures align with the Local Aviation Security MOP (Method of Procedure). This role requires a high level of vigilance and consistency, as the integrity of every screening directly impacts the safety of the aviation supply chain.

Beyond screening, you’ll be responsible for equipment maintenance records, thorough documentation management, and staying up to date with any changes to the Aviation Security MOP. Responsibilities

The Air Cargo Screener role at UPS Mirabel covers a broad range of duties that go well beyond operating screening equipment. • Control access to the Designated Screening Area (DSA), allowing only authorized personnel entry at all times

• Operate X-Ray and ETD machines to screen air cargo and identify potential threats during screening sessions
• Complete and secure documentation including equipment maintenance checklists, logs, and all records required by the Aviation Security MOP
• Maintain and calibrate equipment, reporting any system failures or malfunctions to the Facility Security Coordinator or local management
• Manage symbol scanners used throughout the cargo screening operation
• Stay current with the Aviation Security MOP, reviewing updates as they occur and ensuring full compliance across the screening facility
• Complete all required training on schedule, meeting minimum qualification standards as assessed through ongoing audits and testing
• Fulfil AFSC duties (Alternate Facility Security Coordinator) when called upon

Requirements / Skills

UPS is seeking a candidate who brings both practical experience and a disciplined, detail-focused approach to aviation security screening. The ideal applicant is bilingual, physically capable, and comfortable working in a high-pressure, compliance-driven environment. • 1 year of experience in a warehouse, supply chain, or transportation environment — required
• Bilingual in French and English (written and spoken) — required, given regular interactions with clients outside Quebec (approximately 70% of the time)
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32 kg) unassisted; typical package weights range from 25–35 lbs.
• Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform well under high-pressure situations
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for accurate documentation and team coordination
