Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to safety standards and company regulations at all times.
- Perform yard activities such as trailer audits and coordinating traffic flow.
- Drive Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on public and private roads.
- Operate and maneuver various types of vehicles, including hostlers and day cabs.
- Perform inspections on equipment and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow schedules, track working hours, and comply with DOT regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure timely operations.
- Assist in loading/unloading and maintain operational records.
Basic Qualifications
To qualify for the Transportation Associate position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- At least 21 years of age.
- Willingness to work 40 hours per week with overtime as required.
- Flexibility to work on weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Willingness to drive up to 75% of the time and obtain necessary qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in enforcing safety policies in a transportation setting.
- 6+ months of Peer Driver Trainer (PDT) experience.
- Experience working in Amazon’s Transportation Operations Management (TOM) team.
