At the intersection of product, development, and customer success, Google’s Cloud Applied AI team is looking for a Staff AI Solutions Deployment Developer to join their operations in Waterloo, ON (with the option to work from New York, NY). This is a senior, high-visibility role at the frontier of Agentic AI — turning cutting-edge AI capabilities into production-ready solutions for some of Google’s most strategic global customers.

This isn’t a typical developer role. You’ll be a builder, a strategic systems thinker, and a technical consultant who bridges the gap between complex business challenges and elegant, reasoning-based AI solutions. Working directly alongside model builders, you’ll operate at startup velocity while delivering enterprise-scale impact across the Google Cloud ecosystem.

About the Role: Staff AI Solutions Deployment Developer

As a key contributor to the Applied AI (AAI) team powering business growth with Gemini Enterprise, you’ll be hands-on across the full lifecycle of agentic AI solution delivery. From defining an agent’s reasoning paths and API tooling to ensuring resilient, autonomous infrastructure, you’ll be the technical backbone behind 0-to-1 deployments for enterprise clients. You’ll also work directly with product teams to help shape the Google Cloud product roadmap based on real-world field intelligence.

Collaboration is central to this position. You’ll engage with cross-functional deployment specialists, C-suite stakeholders, and enterprise developers — navigating governance, security, and procurement complexities while advocating for foundational AI architectural frameworks. Your work will directly influence how the broader Google Cloud ecosystem scales and delivers value.

Benefits and Salary

This role offers a competitive compensation package. For Canadian locations, the salary range is $204,000 – $209,000 CAD, plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities

In this role, your day-to-day work will span technical consulting, hands-on development, and strategic advisory across multiple high-stakes customer deployments. You’ll be expected to deliver at the speed of a startup while maintaining the rigour required for enterprise-grade, production AI systems. Here’s what that looks like in practice:

• Contribute to end-to-end delivery of agentic AI solutions from 0-to-1, defining the agent’s reasoning paths, API tools, and guardrails for resilient, autonomous infrastructure
• Mitigate high-stakes customer escalations, providing direct debugging and architectural guidance to both customer developers and C-suite leadership teams
• Deploy pre-general availability features in real-world environments to stress-test capabilities and synthesise field intelligence that directly influences the Google Cloud Product and Developer roadmaps
• Advocate for foundational architectural frameworks such as Agent-MVC and pioneer advanced techniques like cyclic reasoning loops to accelerate time-to-value
• Bridge the gap between non-deterministic LLM outputs and deterministic enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce) to ensure safe, reliable agentic operations within guardrails
• Incubate new products and define best practices that enable the entire Google Cloud ecosystem to scale and deliver at velocity

Requirements / Skills

Google is looking for a seasoned technical professional who combines deep software development expertise with a strong customer-facing consulting track record. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing code, presenting to executives, and navigating the complexities of large enterprise environments. Here’s what’s required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles (e.g., Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Specialist, Principal Consultant) with a focus on enterprise systems
• 3+ years of coding experience in one or more programming languages such as Python or Java
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt development, and conversational AI frameworks
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Preferred: Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), complex production systems, and multi-stakeholder technical projects
• Preferred: Telecom industry experience with customer deployments or similar enterprise verticals
• Preferred: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence executive stakeholders within large organisations
