About the Role: Top Customer Solutions Developer II, Networking

Day to day, you’ll be hands-on with customer production environments — troubleshooting networking issues, debugging code, reproducing reported problems, and identifying root causes. You’ll work directly with customers on complex deployments while also serving as a technical bridge between customer teams and Google’s internal product and engineering organizations. The scope of this role is broad: from resolving platform outages to shaping how Google Cloud’s products evolve based on real customer feedback.

Beyond individual customer engagements, you’ll contribute to the improvement of tools, documentation, and processes that make Google Cloud easier to adopt. Responsibilities

This role centres on owning high-impact customer issues end-to-end, from initial triage through to resolution and long-term reliability. You’ll combine deep networking expertise with hands-on engineering skills to support Google Cloud’s most demanding enterprise customers and continuously improve the platform itself.

  • Resolve production issues by working directly with customers on deployments to achieve product readiness and availability
  • Triage and manage technical escalations including platform outages, critical technical issues, and executive-level concerns
  • Troubleshoot and reproduce customer-reported problems to determine root causes, building tools and diagnostics along the way
  • Act as a subject matter expert and technical consultant for internal stakeholders across software development, sales, and customer organizations
  • Advocate for customers by understanding their needs and working with internal product and engineering teams to drive improvements
  • Improve platform adoption by contributing to product enhancements, tooling, processes, and documentation
  • Participate in global 24/7 support as part of a worldwide team ensuring continuous customer coverage

Requirements / Skills

Google is looking for a technically seasoned professional who can operate confidently at the intersection of cloud networking, software engineering, and customer advocacy. The ideal candidate brings both the depth to debug complex distributed systems and the communication skills to translate technical findings for diverse audiences — including in Mandarin.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of experience in troubleshooting, triaging technical issues, advocating for customers’ needs, or software development
  • Coding proficiency in one or more of Java, C, C++, Python, or Go — including reading, writing, and debugging
  • Distributed systems experience including solutions design or architectural patterns
  • Web technologies knowledge including HTTP, HTML, DNS, and TCP
  • Fluency in Mandarin to effectively support customer relationships
  • Preferred: Experience with public cloud services (e.g., Google Cloud Platform), packet capture and network traffic analysis, developer tooling (automation, testing, debugging), crisis/escalation management across multiple teams, networking fundamentals (load balancing, TCP/IP, peering, cloud storage), and Linux/Unix system administration
