Responsibilities

As a Software Developer Manager on the iOS Glasses System Experiences team, your day-to-day will blend high-level strategy with hands-on technical leadership. You’ll be accountable for both the quality and timely delivery of launches while simultaneously cultivating a team that can tackle the most complex challenges in spatial computing.

  • Own technical roadmaps by balancing projects with strategic value, anticipating stakeholder needs, and applying a data-driven decision making approach aligned with launch requirements
  • Ensure high-quality launches are delivered on time by building for testability, setting and measuring KPIs, assisting with complex issue triage, and meeting compliance launch criteria
  • Empower the team through resource planning and advocacy, technical mentorship, innovative AI-based workflow improvements, and architectural oversight
  • Manage cross-functional relationships both inside and outside of XR at Google to ensure the best of Google’s services are integrated into the product
  • Create opportunities by cultivating new ideas through collaboration with HCI researchers and UX designers, carrying concepts through an iterative R&D process with XR leadership stakeholders

Requirements / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in software development
  • 3 years of experience with iOS application development
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Preferred: Experience designing complex, scalable software architectures for mobile or spatial computing
  • Preferred: Experience with AI-based development workflows and rolling out AI-based practices to a team
  • Preferred: Experience building spatial apps, 3D game engines, or AR/VR experiences; applied knowledge of SwiftUI and launching high-quality iOS applications
