About the Role: Software Developer, Full Stack, reCAPTCHA

As part of Google Cloud, this team is responsible for turning sophisticated threat detection systems into intuitive, enterprise-grade security products. You’ll own and deliver critical features end-to-end — from interactive user journeys in the Cloud Console to analytics pipelines that power customer observability dashboards. You’ll be contributing to infrastructure used by enterprise customers in more than 200 countries and territories, with a direct role in enabling a safer, more trustworthy web for agentic AI systems.

Collaboration is central to this position. You’ll partner with Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) during weekly product rollout cycles and participate in on-call rotations to address customer escalations. Responsibilities

This role spans the full lifecycle of consumer-facing security features — from front-end console design to backend data infrastructure. You’ll be working on systems that serve millions of domains globally, so both code quality and system reliability are held to a high standard. Here’s what you’ll be doing on a regular basis:

  • Design and implement high-fidelity user journeys, interactive UX flows, and configuration interfaces within the Cloud Console (Fraud Defense and Trust API)
  • Build and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines (including Napa and Sawmill log architectures) to process and surface security metrics to customer dashboards
  • Extend and maintain core serving services using C++ and Kotlin, with a focus on system reliability and correctness
  • Partner with SRE on weekly product rollout cycles, define monitoring metrics, and participate in on-call rotations to triage customer escalations
  • Write clean, maintainable code; scale hermetic testing suites; and lead team-wide bughunts to improve code quality across the stack
  • Refactor serving layers to support evolving billing and allowlist features as the product grows

Requirements / Skills

Google is looking for a developer who brings both technical depth and the versatility to move fluidly between front-end and backend concerns. You should be comfortable taking ownership of features end-to-end and working across organizational boundaries with detection and product teams. Here are the key qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of full-stack development experience, including backend (Java, Python, Golang, or C++) and front-end (JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS)
  • 2+ years of experience with C++ and Kotlin in a software development context
  • SQL experience for data querying and analysis
  • Familiarity with Angular, TypeScript, and UI design (preferred)
  • Experience with Cloud APIs, server platforms, Flume, or One Platform is an asset
  • Ability to translate cross-functional requirements into well-structured development designs
