Google’s Developer Experience / CX Agent Studio (CXAS) Console team is looking for a Senior Software Developer, Full Stack to join them in Waterloo, Ontario. This is a role at the intersection of advanced AI development and front-end engineering — where you’ll help build the platform that empowers developers worldwide to create enterprise-grade generative AI agents.
Day to day, you’ll be designing and building the interfaces, workflows, and components that make complex AI agent configuration feel intuitive. Working alongside UX designers, product managers, and ML engineers, you’ll translate technical constraints into elegant, user-centred solutions while helping set the standard for UI engineering on the team.
About the Role: Senior Software Developer, Full Stack
As a Senior Software Developer on the CXAS Console team, you’ll own significant portions of the full-stack development lifecycle for a platform that serves customers globally at scale. From architecting AI-centric workflows to building real-time data visualisation components, your work will directly shape how developers interact with Google’s next-generation agentic development platform.
You’ll also be expected to take on front-end architectural oversight, establish UI engineering best practices, and coach teammates — contributing to a smart, collaborative, and goal-oriented team that operates at the forefront of AI. Benefits and Salary

Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be building the tools and interfaces that enable developers to create, evaluate, deploy, and monitor enterprise-grade AI agents. Your contributions will span the full stack — from performant front-end components to back-end integrations — all in service of a platform that operates at global scale.
- Design and develop scalable, responsive user interfaces for the CXAS Console, empowering developers to build, evaluate, deploy, monitor, and optimise enterprise-grade generative AI agents
- Architect and implement intuitive, AI-centric workflows that simplify complex agent configurations, contributing to an evolving AI-infused front end serving customers globally at scale
- Build robust, performant front-end components capable of managing real-time interactions, data visualisations, and testing interfaces for agents engaging in complex, open-ended dialogues and autonomous tasks
- Collaborate closely with UX design, product management, and ML engineering partners to translate technical constraints into intuitive, user-centric front-end solutions
- Provide front-end architectural oversight, set UI engineering best practices, and coach team members to drive engineering excellence within a collaborative environment
Requirements / Skills

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages
- 3 years of full-stack development experience, including back-end languages such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++, and front-end technologies including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products
- 1 year of experience with software design and architecture
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Preferred: 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role
- Preferred: Experience developing accessible technologies
