About the Role: Preloader

As a Preloader, your primary focus will be on the movement and organization of packages throughout the facility. You’ll be loading and unloading trailers and package cars, scanning and sorting shipments, and ensuring packages are stocked and staged correctly. Familiarity with UPS package handling methods will be part of your on-the-job training.

This role may also involve operating heavy machinery and performing various support tasks as directed. Working in a warehouse setting means staying alert, working efficiently alongside your team, and following established safety protocols throughout every shift.

Responsibilities

As a Preloader at UPS Winnipeg, your day-to-day tasks revolve around keeping the flow of packages moving safely and accurately. From loading and unloading to scanning and sorting, every task you complete plays a direct role in on-time delivery performance.

  • Learn and apply UPS package handling methods and best practices
  • Load and unload UPS packages into trailers and package cars
  • Scan, sort, and stock packages accurately throughout the facility
  • Ship and receive incoming and outgoing freight
  • Operate heavy machinery as required to complete assigned tasks
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned in a fast-paced warehouse environment

Requirements / Skills

UPS is looking for dependable, physically capable individuals who can keep up with the demands of a high-volume warehouse operation. Candidates who are detail-oriented and comfortable working with flexible schedules will do well in this environment.

  • Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs. / 32 kg. regularly throughout a shift
  • Ability to read and memorize postal codes for accurate sorting and delivery preparation
  • Schedule flexibility to work varied shift hours, up to 5 days per week
  • Warehouse experience is considered an asset (preferred, not required)
