About the Role: Preload

As a Preload associate, your primary responsibility is to ensure that UPS packages are handled correctly and efficiently. You’ll be working with trailers and package cars, loading and unloading shipments, as well as scanning, sorting, stocking, and receiving packages throughout your shift. Heavy machinery may also be part of the job.

Responsibilities

In this Preload role, your day-to-day work revolves around keeping UPS packages moving safely and accurately. Every task you carry out directly supports on-time delivery for customers across the region.

  • Load and unload UPS packages into trailers or package cars
  • Scan, sort, and stock packages throughout the shift
  • Ship and receive parcels in line with UPS operational procedures
  • Learn and apply UPS package handling methods correctly and consistently
  • Operate heavy machinery as required to complete warehouse tasks
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned in a fast-paced warehouse environment

Requirements / Skills

  • Physical fitness: ability to lift up to 70 lbs. / 32 kgs.
  • Postal code literacy: ability to read and memorize postal codes for accurate sorting
  • Availability: ability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week
  • Warehouse experience: preferred but not required
