About the Role: Pharmacy Student

Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Student at Costco, your daily work will span both technical pharmacy tasks and direct member-facing service. Every responsibility is carried out under the guidance of a supervising pharmacist to ensure both safety and professional development.

  • Answer and triage member phone calls and direct them to the appropriate product location
  • Collect patient information and accurately input prescriptions into the pharmacy software system
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving stock bottles, counting medications, and labelling under pharmacist supervision
  • Alert the pharmacist when drug interactions or patient concerns arise
  • Assist patients at the counter, retrieve prescriptions, and process register transactions promptly and courteously
  • Communicate with patients about OTC products and refer to the pharmacist when appropriate
  • Provide prescription counselling as permitted by competency level and provincial regulation
  • Identify and recruit patients eligible for medication review programs and support the pharmacist in delivering those services
  • Support Health Promotion Clinics by assisting with recruitment and implementation planning
  • Stock drugs, supplies, and OTC merchandise and help maintain a clean, organized pharmacy
