About the Role: Pharmacy Clerk Certified

Responsibilities

Working in a certified pharmacy environment, the Pharmacy Clerk plays a key supporting role to the pharmacist — balancing patient-facing duties with backend administrative and inventory tasks. Below is a breakdown of the core responsibilities you’ll take on in this position.

  • Assist patients at the counter, receive written prescriptions for the pharmacist, and retrieve filled prescriptions
  • Process register transactions, receive payment, make change, and handle cheque, credit, and debit transactions
  • Answer phones and direct members to product locations with prompt and courteous service
  • Update patient profiles and enter prescription information into the pharmacy computer system, in compliance with Provincial regulations and while preserving patient confidentiality
  • Assist with prescription filling — bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, restocking, labelling, and pricing under the pharmacist’s direct supervision
  • Prepare third-party insurance claims, process invoices, and make accounting entries using the computerized system
  • Order, receive, tag, and stock prescription drugs, supplies, and over-the-counter products in accordance with merchandising standards
  • Maintain department cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, wiping, dusting, and managing waste disposal including trash compactor and cardboard bailer

Requirements / Skills
