About the Role: Pharmacist
As a Pharmacist at Costco Regina, your core focus is delivering direct patient care — dispensing medications accurately, verifying therapeutic appropriateness, and educating patients on proper medication use. You’ll check for drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, dosing accuracy, and appropriate dosage forms as part of every prescription review. You’ll also work closely with a Registered Technician to ensure tasks are distributed efficiently across the dispensary.

You’ll maintain required certifications, participate in continuing education, and uphold Costco Pharmacy’s policies and security procedures. In the absence of the pharmacy manager, you’ll step into the Pharmacist-In-Charge role, overseeing dispensary operations and supervising pharmacy interns and students.

Responsibilities

- Conduct full medication reviews including best possible medication histories, medication reconciliation, and medication therapy management with patient follow-up
- Recruit and conduct health and wellness clinics, documenting interventions as permitted by provincial regulations
- Administer medications by injection and adapt, extend, or modify prescriptions under prescriber delegation or collaboration where permitted
- Order and communicate laboratory tests to the extent permitted by provincial regulations
- Supervise pharmacy interns and students, and act as Pharmacist-In-Charge in the pharmacy manager’s absence
- Participate in a culture of patient safety by reducing prescription incidents and properly managing those that do occur
