This is an evening shift position running Monday to Friday, starting at 5:45 PM and averaging 3–5 hours per shift. You’ll be working inside a fast-paced warehouse environment, handling packages, sorting by postal code, and loading or unloading UPS delivery vehicles and trailers.

About the Role: Part-time Warehouse Worker – Local Sorter

As a Warehouse Worker at UPS Chatham, your primary focus will be on the physical movement and organization of packages. Each shift, you’ll be loading and unloading packages from delivery vehicles and trailers, sorting packages by postal code, and stocking them correctly using UPS-established handling methods. The work is labour-intensive and takes place in a warehouse setting where temperatures can vary.

This role demands full availability Monday through Friday and the ability to work up to 25 hours per week. While the pace is demanding, it’s also predictable and structured. As a unionized position, your rights and progression are governed by a Collective Agreement, which means transparent wage increases and clear expectations on both sides.

Benefits and Salary

This position starts at a pay rate of $18.00/hr., with automatic progression up to $30.11/hr. after 48 months of service as outlined in the Union Collective Agreement. Benefits include extended health and dental coverage after one year of service, 2 weeks of paid vacation after one year, a pension plan, personal paid days off, and an employee referral bonus program. Note that monthly union dues of approximately $52/month apply, along with a one-time union initiation fee of $50 deducted after 90 working days.

Responsibilities

Each shift at the Chatham UPS warehouse centres around the efficient and safe movement of packages. You’ll be expected to follow UPS package handling procedures precisely, work at a consistent pace, and adapt to varying operational demands. These responsibilities are the backbone of UPS’s local delivery network.

• Load and unload packages into and out of UPS package delivery vehicles and trailers
• Sort and stock packages accurately based on postal codes
• Learn and apply company-established package handling methods correctly
• Work safely inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles as required
• Adapt to shift variations based on operational needs, with flexibility in start and finish times

Requirements / Skills

• Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32 kg) without assistance

• Comfort working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles
