About the Role: Package Handler Trainer

As a Package Handler Trainer at FedEx’s Edmonton facility, your core responsibility is to ensure freight moves through the operation safely and efficiently. You’ll be actively loading and unloading freight, scanning and sorting packages, and transporting freight within and between facilities — all while coaching other Package Handlers on best practices.

This role demands a solid understanding of FedEx Canada operations and an ability to communicate clearly with team members at all levels. Physical capability is essential — you’ll need to lift up to 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages weighing up to 150 lbs using appropriate equipment. Responsibilities

Day-to-day work in this role spans both active freight handling and team training. You’ll be moving packages through the facility while simultaneously supporting newer Package Handlers with the skills and knowledge they need to perform safely and efficiently. • Load and unload freight as part of regular facility operations
• Scan and sort packages to ensure accurate processing and routing
• Transport freight within and between facilities as required
• Train Package Handlers on loading, unloading, palletizing, and scanning techniques
• Ensure compliance with safe movement and handling procedures throughout the operation
• Operate in a PC Windows environment and complete mandatory training and recurrence accreditations
• Adapt to varying shifts based on business needs

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
• Minimum six months of experience as a Package Handler (preferred)
• Familiarity with FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations (preferred)
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to train and guide fellow team members
• Physical capability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
• Valid G licence with a good driving record (two or fewer violations/accidents in the past 24 months)
• Bilingualism (French and English) required for candidates residing in Quebec
