Responsibilities
The Member Service Assistant role at Costco covers a broad range of duties that keep the warehouse running safely and members feeling welcomed. From the moment members walk through the doors to when they leave, you play a key part in their experience — and in keeping the facility secure and hazard-free.
- Greet and welcome members at the warehouse entrance, verify membership cards, and offer carts as needed
- Conduct hourly safety and security checks throughout the warehouse and perimeter, on foot and in your personal vehicle
- Identify and correct safety hazards such as spills, trip hazards, and blocked exits, then report findings to the duty manager
- Count member entries using a handheld counter and report half-hourly counts to the Front End team
- Monitor warehouse access and discreetly observe security-sensitive activities including armoured vehicle deposits and register set-ups
- Check member receipts at the exit for accuracy and validity, mark receipts, and thank members on departure
- Direct members to product and service locations and arrange assistance for loading and shopping needs
- Assist with after-hours security by monitoring the exit door from your personal vehicle and communicating via 2-way radio
- Support other warehouse areas as required
Requirements / Skills

- High School Diploma or GED preferred but not mandatory
- Valid Driver’s Licence and personal vehicle required for after-hours perimeter security checks
