About the Role: Member Service Assistant

As a Member Service Assistant at Costco Kelowna, you’ll be one of the first and last faces members see during their visit. You’ll verify membership cards at the entrance, count incoming traffic using a handheld counter, and conduct hourly warehouse safety and security checks — both on foot and from your personal vehicle. You’ll also check member receipts at the exit and thank them on their way out, making every interaction count.

This role also involves security monitoring responsibilities, including discretely observing armored transport pickups and checking bags at exits. You’ll be in regular communication with the duty manager via 2-way radio, particularly during closing procedures. Teamwork, attention to detail, and a calm, professional manner are essential to succeeding in this position.

Responsibilities

• Track member entry counts using a handheld counter and report half-hourly totals to the Front End team
• Monitor warehouse access, discretely observe armored transport pickups, and check bags, strollers, and personal items at the exit
• Verify member receipts at the exit for accuracy, mark with a highlighter, and thank each member on departure
• Perform after-hours security monitoring from your personal vehicle, patrolling the perimeter and communicating via 2-way radio
• Provide courteous member service, directing shoppers to products and services and assisting with loading when needed
