As an Electronics/Majors Sales Assistant, your primary focus is on delivering exceptional member service across the electronics, major appliances, and jewellery departments. You’ll answer questions, walk members through product features, and assist with loading items to their carts. Staying current on the latest technology trends and product specs is a key part of the job — you’ll regularly read industry publications and test products to build your knowledge.
Beyond direct member interactions, you’ll work closely with the Area Manager on pricing, promotions, and inventory, while maintaining high standards for product displays and merchandising. The role also involves participation in merchandise moves, processing member returns, and keeping the department clean and organized.

Responsibilities
The Electronics/Majors Sales Assistant role covers a broad range of daily tasks centred on member service, department maintenance, and product knowledge. From helping members navigate their purchasing decisions to keeping displays immaculate and inventory stocked, every part of this role contributes to a smooth and professional shopping experience.
- Provide prompt, courteous service to members on the sales floor, addressing questions and demonstrating product features
- Assist members with loading merchandise into their carts and guiding them through product options
- Stay current on technology trends by reading industry publications, product reviews, and experimenting with merchandise to understand functions and specifications
- Communicate with the Area Manager regarding product quantity, pricing, delivery timelines, and upcoming promotions
- Maintain merchandising standards by setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays; aligning and facing items; and restocking to maintain high product levels
- Process member returns, verify product condition, and ensure accurate product signage and price markings
- Participate in merchandise moves, review stocking lists, and stock shelves as required
- Manage security lock-ups for high-value items and keep the sales floor and lock-up areas clean and free of debris
Requirements / Skills

- High School Diploma or GED — preferred but not mandatory
- Sales experience — candidates with a background in sales will be given preference

- Willingness to learn — reading product literature and staying up to date with technology trends is an ongoing requirement
