About the Role: Maintenance Assistant

Responsibilities
The Maintenance Assistant plays a key role in keeping Costco’s Optical Lab in Regina clean, organized, and safe for all staff, members, and visitors. These responsibilities are varied and hands-on, requiring attention to detail and a proactive approach every shift.
- Clean floors throughout the facility including offices, break rooms, restrooms, and the production floor; change scrubber water frequently to minimize dust
- Empty trash from designated areas and operate trash and cardboard compactors safely
- Respond quickly to spills and address cleaning needs as they arise throughout the day
- Maintain light fixtures, change light bulbs, wash windows, upper walls, and ceilings; vacuum rafters periodically
- Support grounds maintenance including blowing leaves, picking up litter, conducting roof checks, snow and ice removal, painting assistance, and concrete floor repairs
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed; receive and place merchandise in appropriate departments
- Operate the internal maintenance system (Interal) and assist with store inventory
- Perform internal and external purchases as required
- Follow all Optical Lab and general safety and security procedures consistently
- Provide prompt and courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers
Requirements / Skills
