About the Role: Letter Carrier / Delivery Agent

Each day starts at the depot, where you’ll sort and prepare deliveries before loading up the vehicle and heading out on your route. The bulk of your shift is spent outdoors, delivering mail and packages to residential and business customers across Swift Current — whether that’s on foot or by vehicle. When the route is done, you’ll return to the depot to unload incoming mail and parcels for subsequent delivery.

This role calls for physical stamina, a solid safe driving record, and the flexibility to be on-call as needed. Canada Post takes workplace safety seriously, and you’ll receive thorough classroom and on-the-job training before heading out independently. Working as part of the broader Delivery Operations team, you’ll be expected to uphold Canada Post’s core values of Trust, Respect, and Deliver in every customer interaction.

Responsibilities

As a Delivery Agent with Canada Post, your day is structured around making sure every piece of mail and every parcel reaches its destination reliably and on time. From depot prep in the morning to unloading at the end of the shift, each part of your day plays a direct role in keeping Swift Current connected.

• Sort and prepare the day’s deliveries at the depot each morning before heading out on route
• Load and operate a Canada Post postal vehicle safely and responsibly
• Deliver mail and packages to residential and business customers by foot or vehicle along your assigned route
• Maintain efficiency throughout the day, working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Return to the depot at the end of your route to unload incoming mail and parcels for later delivery
• Represent Canada Post professionally in every customer interaction along your route

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is physically active, dependable, and comfortable working independently in all kinds of weather. Canada Post is looking for people who take pride in their community and are ready to be a reliable presence on their route day in and day out.

• Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a clean driving record for a minimum of 3 years (driver’s abstract required)
• Physical capability to lift mail items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout a shift
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather year-round
• On-call availability — flexibility to work as needed on a temporary basis
• English and/or French language reading, writing, and speaking ability
• Customer service experience is an asset
• Delivery or driving experience is considered an advantage
