About the Role: Industrial Electrician

As an Industrial Electrician, you’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of a wide range of electrical and electronic systems across the facility. Your day-to-day will include working with switchgear, transformers, motors, generators, alternators, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems. You’ll rely on your ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to carry out equipment installations safely and accurately.

This role requires attention to detail, comfort working at heights and in confined spaces, and the physical ability to handle demanding conditions. You’ll contribute to a safe, compliant work environment by following all relevant electrical codes and keeping thorough maintenance records. Responsibilities

Day-to-day, the Industrial Electrician is responsible for keeping critical electrical systems running safely and efficiently. From routine preventive maintenance to urgent troubleshooting, the work covers a broad range of industrial electrical and electronic systems.

• Maintain industrial instrumentation and all related devices to ensure continuous operation
• Replace or repair electrical components as required
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
• Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors
• Service electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and related devices
• Interpret electrical code specifications to ensure all work meets regulatory standards
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and maintain accurate maintenance records
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine proper equipment installation layouts

Requirements / Skills

• Industrial Electrician Trade Certification or Red Seal Certificate required
• 3 to less than 5 years of experience in industrial electrical work
• Other trades certificate or diploma as an educational background

• Bondable with ability to pass a criminal record check
• Owns personal tools and equipment; willingness to relocate to the Kentville area
