Head of Sovereign – Google Cloud – Ottawa, ON
Location: Ottawa, ON | Company: Google
Ottawa is home to some of Canada’s most important public sector institutions — and Google Cloud is looking for a senior sales leader to help those organizations embrace the future of technology. The Head of Sovereign, Google Cloud is a strategic, high-impact role designed for a seasoned professional with deep roots in public sector sales and a track record of building lasting enterprise relationships at the federal level.
This is not your typical sales position. As a Key Account Executive (KAE) for the Public Sector, you’ll be a trusted partner to federal government agencies, defence, and security entities — guiding them through complex, multi-year cloud transformations with Google Cloud’s enterprise-grade solutions. You’ll be at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and public policy, helping Canada’s most critical institutions modernize how they work.
About the Role: Head of Sovereign, Google Cloud
In this position, you’ll own the full sales cycle for key public sector accounts in Ottawa and across Canada. That means everything from initiating executive-level conversations to orchestrating internal specialists, partner teams, and post-sales resources to deliver on revenue commitments and drive cloud consumption. Your approach will be grounded in consultative value selling — understanding a customer’s critical challenges and aligning them with the right Google Cloud solutions to create measurable impact.
You’ll be responsible for developing and executing multi-year account strategies, negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements, and ensuring pipeline health through disciplined forecasting and reporting. Collaboration is central to this role — you’ll work closely with cross-functional internal teams and external partners to co-sell and deliver seamless customer experiences. Bilingual capability (English and French) is a strong asset given the national capital context.
