About the Role: Graphics Software Developer, Chrome

As a Chrome Graphics Developer, you’ll be embedded in a Montreal-based team responsible for building and improving the graphics stack that underpins the web platform. Your work will span multiple layers of the stack — from contributing to the ANGLE (Almost Native Graphics Layer Engine) codebase to designing new features for the WebGPU API and its shading language. You’ll also contribute to the Dawn project, Google’s open-source implementation of WebGPU, improving both performance and developer experience.

Responsibilities

Working on the Chrome graphics team means tackling some of the most technically demanding problems in browser engineering.   • Design and implement improvements across the Chrome graphics pipeline to enhance rendering performance and reliability
  • Investigate and develop new features for the WebGPU API and shading language, and contribute to the Dawn project to improve performance and developer experience
  • Contribute to the ANGLE codebase to resolve stateful API bugs and math-heavy issues within the graphics layer
  • Lead security mitigation efforts, including implementing memory safety mechanisms in the graphics stack and higher-level security mitigations
  • Partner with technical leads to identify work, drive execution across distributed teams, and utilize AI tools to accelerate engineering productivity

Requirements / Skills
