Full-Time Cashier – Walmart – Yarmouth, NS

Walmart Canada’s Yarmouth location is looking for three Full-Time Cashiers to join their in-store team. As the face of the store at checkout, you’ll play a key role in shaping every customer’s final impression of their shopping experience. About the Role: Full-Time Cashier

In this position, you’ll be stationed at the checkout area, guiding customers through the end of their shopping journey. That means processing purchases efficiently, assisting with bagging and loading, and ensuring every interaction is warm and professional. You’ll also be responsible for deactivating merchandise through the EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) Program and promoting initiatives like credit card services, product protection plans, and charity programs.

Beyond serving customers, this role has a loss prevention component. Cashiers at Walmart are expected to maintain register security and cash handling integrity, follow all relevant company policies, and stay aware of their surroundings to protect company assets. Safe work practices — including proper lifting techniques and maintaining a clean checkout area — are also part of the daily routine.

Benefits and Salary

This position starts at a minimum rate of $16.90 per hour. As a full-time permanent associate, you’ll also be eligible for Walmart Canada’s comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities

Cashiers at Walmart Yarmouth are the last point of contact before a customer leaves the store, so the work genuinely matters. Day to day, you’ll handle a mix of customer service, transaction processing, and store security responsibilities — all of which contribute directly to customer satisfaction and store operations.

• Greet all customers in a polite and friendly manner to create a welcoming checkout experience
• Process all purchase transactions in a timely and efficient manner, including EAS merchandise deactivation
• Promote company-sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charity initiatives
• Assist customers with bagging and loading of their merchandise
• Follow safe work practices including proper lifting techniques and maintaining a clean work area
• Maintain register security and cash handling integrity in accordance with company policies
• Refer appropriate service and transactional items to a Customer Service Manager as needed
