About the Role: Food Counter Attendant

As a Food Counter Attendant at Tim Hortons in Westlock, you’ll be responsible for keeping the front and back of house running smoothly. That means preparing and heating simple food items, packaging take-out orders, portioning and wrapping foods, and using equipment like grills, food dispensers, and electronic cash registers. You’ll interact directly with guests while also supporting kitchen operations behind the scenes.

Maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace is a key part of this role. You’ll be expected to follow proper food safety procedures, handle and store cleaning products responsibly, and assist with receiving and storing incoming supplies. Weight handling of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) is required, so physical readiness is important for day-to-day tasks.

Benefits and Salary

This full-time, permanent position pays $15.50 per hour for 30 to 40 hours per week. Scheduling options include early morning, morning, day, evening, night, and flexible hours, making it a workable fit for a variety of lifestyles. The position is based on site at the Westlock location — there is no remote work option.

Responsibilities

Working at a Tim Hortons counter means staying on your feet and keeping things moving.

• Take customers’ orders accurately and efficiently at the counter
• Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items for service
• Package take-out food and portion and wrap foods for customers
• Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware; sanitize and wash items by hand as needed
• Scour pots and pans and clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs
• Keep records of the quantities of food used
• Clean and sanitize the kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment
• Handle and store cleaning products safely and properly
• Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
• Remove kitchen garbage and trash and sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors
• Operate equipment including electronic cash registers, food dispensers, and grills

Requirements / Skills

Tim Hortons is looking for candidates who are reliable, physically capable, and ready to learn. You don’t need years of experience to apply — the posting lists experience as an asset, not a requirement.

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
• Language: English is required for day-to-day communication
• Experience: Experience in a food service or counter role is considered an asset but is not mandatory
• Physical ability: Must be able to handle weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Work eligibility: Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with a valid work permit
• Availability: Flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings, and nights is an advantage
