Field Service Electrician, Commercial – Tesla – Calgary, AB

What Does a Field Service Electrician Do at Tesla?

As a Field Service Electrician, you’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Tesla’s commercial energy products. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll troubleshoot issues, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain Tesla’s high performance standards. Whether it’s solar systems, energy storage, or charging stations, your work will directly support Tesla’s mission to transform energy on a global scale.

Your Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on commercial inverters to maintain warranty coverage and optimal performance.
• Troubleshooting: Respond to corrective maintenance cases for solar PV systems, energy storage systems, and charging stations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and reliability teams to address technical issues and share data for system improvements.
• Documentation: Write detailed reports to meet deliverables in operations and maintenance contracts.
• Customer Support: Address customer concerns regarding system performance and functionality.
• Asset Management: Ensure all tools, vehicles, and equipment are maintained in excellent condition.

What You’ll Bring

• Valid Journeyperson Electrician card with a Red Seal endorsement.
• Experience troubleshooting power electronics and low-voltage control systems.
• Proficiency with power/hand tools, electrical equipment, and multimeters, as well as knowledge of CEC codes and CSA Z462 practices.
• Comfortable working at heights and in extreme environments, with the ability to lift at least 50 lbs regularly.
• Willingness to travel with short notice, including overnight stays and weekend shifts.
• Valid driver’s license required.
