About the Role: Employee Relations Business Partner

The Employee Relations Business Partner provides consulting and direction on employee relations matters to managers, leaders, and employees within Apple’s Retail organization. A core part of the mandate is ensuring that legal compliance and adherence to Apple’s policies are met consistently, objectively, and fairly — in a way that reinforces the company’s foundational values. This is achieved through deep collaboration with the various Centres of Excellence (COEs) within Apple’s HR function.

This role carries significant responsibility and requires strong judgment. You’ll be advising on decisions that can have a meaningful impact on individuals and the broader organization, including matters involving business conduct, terminations, and policy violations. Beyond reactive case management, you’ll also analyze ER trends and metrics to develop proactive strategies that support positive employee relations across markets. Working proficiency in both English and French-Canadian is required, as this role supports employees across all Canadian provinces.

Apple offers a competitive base salary range of $113,400 to $170,100 CAD for this role, with the final figure based on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Responsibilities

As an Employee Relations Business Partner, your day-to-day work spans a wide range of sensitive and complex situations. You’ll be expected to navigate ambiguity with confidence, bring sound judgment to high-stakes decisions, and serve as a credible advisor to HR colleagues and business leaders across Apple’s Canadian Retail markets.

  • Identify, analyse, and resolve complex and highly sensitive employee relations issues, including situations where no clear precedent exists
  • Advise and influence market leadership on critical ER decisions including harassment, business conduct, terminations, and HR policy matters
  • Conduct investigations into potential misconduct and policy violations across varying levels of complexity, with thorough documentation throughout
  • Evaluate employee concerns and review related decisions to ensure they are fair, consistent, and aligned with Apple’s values
  • Conduct workplace violence assessments and develop and implement appropriate response plans as needed
  • Provide consultation on workplace accommodations in partnership with relevant business partners
  • Advise and implement country-wide employee relations programs, policies, and procedures
  • Deliver training to HR, ER, and line management on employee relations topics
  • Analyse ER metrics through the case management system to identify trends and build proactive strategies that cultivate a positive workplace

Requirements / Skills

Apple is looking for a seasoned HR professional with deep expertise in employee relations and a proven track record of navigating sensitive workplace matters with care and discretion. The ideal candidate brings both technical HR knowledge and the interpersonal skills to build trust with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • 7–12+ years of HR experience with a focus on employee relations
  • Deep expertise in conducting investigations and skilled documentation practices related to investigations
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations at the local, provincial/state, and federal levels
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and stakeholders across different markets simultaneously
  • Ability to travel 20–30% as required by the role
  • Working proficiency in English and French-Canadian, as this role supports employees in all Canadian provinces
  • Strong communication skills including effective listening, written communication, and presentation — bilingual proficiency is an asset
  • Large corporation HR/ER experience is considered a strong asset
