iOS Engineer: Cloud Media and Collaboration – Apple – Vancouver, BC

Location: Vancouver, BC | Company: Apple

Vancouver is home to one of Apple’s most technically ambitious teams, and they’re looking for a senior iOS Engineer to take the lead on cloud media and collaboration infrastructure. This is a founding-team role — you won’t be inheriting someone else’s codebase or incrementally improving an existing system. You’ll be making the architectural decisions that determine how millions of creative professionals organize, sync, and collaborate on their work across iOS and macOS for years to come.

Day to day, you’ll be writing performant, multi-threaded Swift code that ships to a massive user base, working directly with HI designers, QA engineers, and cross-functional partners. Your role goes well beyond implementation — you’ll be influencing product direction, mentoring engineers around you, and deepening your expertise in CloudKit, AVKit, and on-device storage systems at Apple’s scale.

About the Role: iOS Engineer – Cloud Media and Collaboration

This position centres on end-to-end architecture ownership for cloud syncing and media management features. You’ll be accountable for the full lifecycle of complex, multi-quarter features — from scoping and cross-team coordination through to shipping production-quality code that holds up under real creative workloads. The technical bar is high, and you’ll be expected to raise it for the engineers around you.

Collaboration is central to how this team operates. You’ll work closely with designers, QA engineers, and stakeholders across multiple functions, translating deep technical judgment into clear communication that shapes the product roadmap. If you thrive on owning hard problems and want your architectural decisions to have lasting impact at scale, this role is built for that.
