Apple’s Video Apps team in Vancouver, British Columbia is looking for a talented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help shape the quality of tools used by creative professionals, video makers, and visual storytellers. This is a technically demanding role that blends deep QA engineering expertise with a genuine passion for video and photo technologies.
You’ll be embedded within a team that pushes the boundaries of what creative software can do — working across iOS and macOS platforms, driving automation with Swift and Python, and applying emerging tools like LLMs and GenAI to advance test coverage and quality workflows. If you thrive in fast-moving environments where precision and curiosity are equally valued, this role is worth a close look.
About the Role: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
At the core of this position is ownership over end-to-end test planning, design, execution, and automation. You’ll be responsible for translating complex feature requirements into effective test plans and test cases, running both manual and automated tests, and ensuring features are solid before they reach Apple’s customers. You’ll work directly with engineering and product teams to coordinate multi-functional test efforts and communicate progress, risks, and findings clearly and systematically.
This role demands someone who is proactive about process improvements, meticulous in bug detection and regression analysis, and motivated to stay current with emerging trends in computer vision, on-device machine learning, and testing methodologies. You’ll play an important part in upholding the standard of quality that Apple customers expect.
