Data Analyst – Store Operations & Merchandising – Canadian Tire – Toronto, ON
Location: Toronto, ON | Company: Canadian Tire
Canadian Tire Corporation is one of Canada’s most recognized retail institutions, and right now they’re looking for a Data Analyst to join their Store Operations & Merchandising team in Toronto, Ontario. This is a 12-month contract position with a hybrid work arrangement — four days in-office each week — giving you the chance to work on meaningful, high-impact analytics projects for one of the country’s largest retail networks.
This is a hands-on, technical role built for someone who loves working with data end to end — from raw extraction and cleaning all the way through to dashboards and business insights. You’ll be supporting store-level decisions and merchandising performance by building datasets, running analysis, and translating numbers into clear, actionable outputs for stakeholders across the business.
About the Role: Data Analyst – Store Operations & Merchandising
At its core, this position is about making data work harder for the teams on the front lines of retail. You’ll be extracting and manipulating large datasets covering sales, inventory, product, and store performance, then building the dashboards and models that keep stakeholders informed and decisions sharp. You’ll use SQL, Power BI, and Excel daily, and you’ll be expected to ramp up quickly on existing data models and tools.
You’ll operate independently on technical tasks while receiving guidance from senior team members. The role includes ad hoc analysis on assortment, pricing, promotions, and inventory movement, as well as troubleshooting data quality issues and supporting ongoing improvements to reporting processes. Clear communication is essential — you’ll need to translate business questions into data requirements and explain outputs in plain language.
Benefits and Salary
The broadband salary range for this position is $64,000 – $106,000, with a typical hiring range of $64,000 – $85,000. Final compensation depends on your experience, industry benchmarks, and internal equity.
