About the Role: Cashier Assistant

Responsibilities

The Cashier Assistant role involves a wide variety of tasks that support both the cashier team and Costco members throughout the day. From greeting members at the checkout to keeping the parking lot clear of carts, every task contributes to a smooth and positive warehouse experience.

  • Greet members and assist them in loading their orders onto the conveyor belt while determining their packing preferences
  • Pack member orders into boxes and load them onto separate carts or flatbeds; check packaging for tampering
  • Run for items such as merchandise, boxes, register supplies, and item numbers as requested by cashiers to keep lines moving
  • Transfer items not on the belt to a separate cart or flatbed as cashiers scan them
  • Maintain cleanliness of the register area and general front-end, addressing spills and trip hazards immediately
  • Retrieve carts and flatbeds from the parking area using a rope with a clasping hook, pushing no more than 8 carts at a time
  • Perform set-up and closing duties including returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning
  • Operate the mechanical trash compactor and cardboard bailer as required
  • Support cashiers during various promotions and assist in other warehouse areas as needed

Requirements / Skills
