Responsibilities
Working in the bakery department means staying on top of both product presentation and food safety at all times. Your responsibilities cover everything from preparing baked goods to maintaining compliance with Walmart’s operational standards — all in service of delivering a great customer experience.
- Maintain quality and visual appearance of bakery merchandise including bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls
- Stock the department to ensure it is fully replenished and ready for business throughout your shift

- Adhere to food safety and cold chain compliance protocols, including thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, product rotation, and monitoring of sell-by and expiration dates

- Prepare bakery products by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines
- Process ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, and proper signing, flagging, pricing, and labelling
