Responsibilities

The Technical Account Manager role is both strategic and hands-on. You’ll be responsible for accelerating cloud adoption, removing blockers, and ensuring customer engagements deliver real business value. Below is a summary of the core responsibilities you’ll take on in this position.

  • Accelerate adoption of Google Cloud by leading implementation journeys, managing timelines, milestones, migration goals, and business transformation strategies
  • Advocate for customer needs to overcome adoption blockers and drive new feature development across internal Google teams
  • Lead across multiple workstreams and teams to maintain customer momentum throughout complex, multi-phase engagements
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders to understand customer business objectives, build technical roadmaps, and lead quarterly business reviews and executive sessions
  • Plan for customer events and launches, partnering with Support, Developers, and Site Reliability Engineers to ensure successful outcomes
  • Guide issues and escalations to resolution by working collaboratively with customers and Google Support teams
  • Develop best practices and reusable assets based on learnings from customer engagements to scale initiatives through partners and accelerate Google Cloud adoption

Requirements / Skills

Google is looking for a technically grounded professional with a strong background in customer-facing roles and proven experience managing cloud implementations or transformation programs. The ideal candidate brings both strategic thinking and practical cloud knowledge to every engagement.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role working with stakeholders and managing technical implementations or transformation programs
  • Cloud operations experience, including launch or capacity planning, product release management, cloud technical support, escalation management, or cloud consulting
  • MBA or Master’s degree in a Management, Technical, or Engineering field (preferred)
  • Experience translating business requirements into technological solutions (preferred)
  • Application or workload migration experience to public cloud providers (preferred)
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills, including experience working with channel partners, systems integrators, and third-party developers (preferred)
  • Understanding of IT operations, including database systems, networking, IT security, application development, service architecture, cloud-native development, hosted services, storage systems, or content delivery networks (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, problem-solving, and client management skills (preferred)
