About the Position: Software Development Engineer II (SDE II)

As an SDE II, you will be responsible for building scalable, distributed systems that orchestrate the retail ordering workflow at Amazon. Using your expertise in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming, you’ll develop solutions that impact hundreds of millions of customers globally.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to design and implement flexible, high-performance systems that adapt to evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop scalable, distributed systems that support Amazon’s retail ordering workflow.
• Design reliable and flexible solutions to solve complex challenges in large-scale computing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive system architecture and performance improvements.
• Own your systems end-to-end, from development to production operations.
• Innovate and contribute to the evolution of Amazon’s eCommerce services.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship experience in design or architecture, focusing on reliability and scalability.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary for this position ranges from $114,800/year to $191,800/year, depending on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a total compensation package that may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and other benefits such as:
