About the Role: Service Deli Clerk
As a Service Deli Clerk, your primary focus is on preparing, packaging, and labelling a variety of ready-to-eat and take-and-bake products including meals, salads, party trays, rotisserie chickens, ribs, and pizzas. You’ll follow Costco’s formulas and production diagrams to ensure every product meets quality and consistency standards, while also managing inventory by stocking and rotating the display case and tracking production needs daily.
This role also requires strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols, including complying with health code regulations around temperatures, pull dates, and cleanliness. You’ll perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment, operate a trash compactor and cardboard bailer, and maintain a clean and safe deli area at all times. Teamwork is key — you’ll also assist in other areas of the department or warehouse as needed.

Responsibilities
As a Service Deli Clerk at Costco Vancouver, your day-to-day work centres on food preparation, production, and customer service. You’ll be responsible for everything from raw ingredient prep to finished product presentation, ensuring that what goes into the display case is fresh, properly labelled, and visually consistent. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential throughout each task.
- Prepare and assemble party trays, salads, meals, take-and-bake pizzas, and other deli products according to Costco’s formulas and diagrams
- Cook and coat rotisserie chickens and ribs using commercial and rotisserie ovens, applying barbecue sauce and combining ingredients for entrees and sauces
- Package and label finished products using an automated wrapping machine, ensuring correct weights, seals, and labelling
- Stock and rotate the display case, maintaining product freshness and a visually appealing presentation
- Monitor quality and consistency against department standards, tracking production needs and documenting daily output on production forms
- Comply with food safety regulations, including proper sanitation practices, temperature monitoring, and adherence to pull dates
- Clean and sanitize equipment by disassembling, spraying with cleaning agents, and washing parts in a 3-compartment or power soak sink
- Maintain the deli area by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, emptying drain screens, and operating the trash compactor and cardboard bailer
- Provide prompt and courteous service to Costco members throughout the shift
- Complete records and checklists including time and temperature logs, salvage/damage reports, and end-of-day sanitation checklists
Requirements / Skills

- Food Safety Certification – Level 1 is required before starting in the position
