About the Role: Food Service Assistant – Food Court
As a Food Service Assistant at Costco’s Vancouver food court, you’ll be responsible for preparing hot foods, handling cash transactions, maintaining dispensing equipment, and keeping the entire service area clean and sanitary. You’ll work with everything from pizza ovens and deep fryers to frozen yogurt and smoothie machines, making sure members are served quickly and correctly.
Following health codes, sanitation standards, and food safety procedures is a core part of this position. You’ll also be expected to pull and restock ingredients from the warehouse, maintain proper product rotation and temperature compliance, and support your colleagues across the department as needed.

Responsibilities
Day-to-day work in the Costco Food Court keeps you engaged across multiple tasks — from food prep and cash handling to cleaning and restocking. Each responsibility plays a direct role in delivering a smooth and safe experience for members visiting the food court.
- Prepare hot food items including rolling, shaping, and topping pizzas; operating deep fryers; and steaming hot dogs and buns
- Handle cash transactions accurately — ring up sales, collect payment, make change, and take whole pizza orders at the counter and by phone
- Assemble and present orders to customers, using tongs for hot food items and following department production standards
- Dispense and maintain dessert and drink machines including frozen yogurt, lattes, and smoothies; clean, sanitize, service, and refill as needed
- Maintain the dining area — bus and sanitize tables, sweep and mop floors, and empty trash receptacles
- Clean and sanitize machines, work surfaces, floors, pans, utensils, and counters throughout each shift
- Pull and stock ingredients from the warehouse to shelves, cooler, and freezer; stage supplies for preparation and refill dispensing machines
- Comply with health codes including sanitation requirements, temperature monitoring, product rotation, and expiration date checks
Requirements / Skills
