About the Role: Pharmacy Clerk Certified
As a Certified Pharmacy Clerk, you’ll work directly under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assisting with everything from counting and labelling prescriptions to processing payments and updating patient profiles in the pharmacy computer system. You’ll be a key point of contact for members at the counter and on the phone, helping them navigate the pharmacy with care and professionalism.

Responsibilities
Day-to-day, this role keeps the pharmacy department operating efficiently and compassionately. You’ll be interacting with members, supporting the pharmacist, and managing both the administrative and physical sides of the department — from processing prescriptions to keeping shelves stocked and the space clean.
- Assist patients at the counter, receive written prescriptions, and retrieve filled prescriptions for pickup
- Process register transactions including cash, cheque, credit, and debit payments accurately
- Support the pharmacist in filling prescriptions — bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, labelling, and restocking under direct supervision
- Update patient profiles and enter prescription information into the pharmacy computer system in accordance with Provincial regulations
- Prepare third-party insurance claims, process invoices, and make accounting entries using the computerized system
- Order, receive, tag, and stock prescription drugs, supplies, and over-the-counter merchandise
- Maintain department cleanliness through sweeping, mopping, wiping, dusting, and emptying trash
- Answer phones and direct members to product locations with prompt, courteous service
Requirements / Skills
Costco is looking for a candidate who brings both formal pharmacy training and genuine commitment to patient-centred service. Candidates with active pharmacy experience will be prioritized, and strong computer and math skills will serve you well in this role.
- Pharmacy diploma from a Community College or Costco Pharmacy Clerk certification (required)
- Provincial certification as required by the province where applicable
- Current pharmacy experience preferred — candidates with hands-on experience will be given priority
- Computer skills for working with pharmacy management and point-of-sale systems
- Math proficiency for handling transactions and prescription-related calculations
